Business Simulation Competition
A unique opportunity for secondary school students to compete against one another for some great cash prizes and in the process experience the start-up and management of a business, learning both from their mistakes and successes.
All students need to play the game is a computer, an internet connection, Flash Player 8 or higher installed (this is free to download) and Internet Explorer 6 or Mozilla Firefox 2.
In the game competitors manage a retail store for one year. They need to ensure that the store has enough stock for customers to buy, manage cash flow, increase sales and hire staff. Students win by achieving the highest game score (compared to other student competitors), which is a combination of their store's net profit, their character rating and social status. To do well in the game students need to pay attention to all aspects of their score.
There are two competitions, one for Years 10 and 11 and one for Years 12 and 13. Students can compete individually or in teams of 2. To register for the competition, please email student name(s), Year(s) and a contact email (this is so we can send login details) by the appropriate date/time.
