Welcome
The School of Business and Economics runs events and outreach activities throughout the academic year. Whatever your interest in business at UC, these are great opportunities to learn more about our programmes, see and hear more of our lecturers and do more on campus.
UC Events
Events for students and the general community are publicised on the UC Events website. These include information and community days, open lectures and alumni evenings.
Visit UC
If you would like to visit the university as a prospective student our liaison office can arrange a campus tour. As part of this tour you can arrange to visit the School of Business and Economics.
Outreach
Our Outreach Programme aims to:
- encourage an appreciation of the business world
- emphasise both the satisfaction and exciting career opportunities that tertiary level commerce study provides
- support the commerce teaching community
- develop New Zealand's future business leaders.
The programme targets secondary school students with a range of activities such as the Business Simulation Competition, Scholarship Examination Workshops and Accounting and Economics Challenges, in order to extend and encourage students in their business studies, while also assisting teachers in their professional development.
If you are a high school teacher, particularly in commerce, social sciences, information technology and business studies subjects, and you'd like to discuss a visit to our School with your class or request a presentation to your students, please contact the Marketing and Outreach Coordinator in the School of Business and Economics.
