BCom - International Business major degree plan

This plan shows the typical degree structure for the BCom International Business major and satisfies all points, course and level requirements. Courses are organised by year to ensure you meet 200 and 300-level course prerequisites. When a course is offered in both semesters you can choose which semester you want to complete it in. To maintain a balanced workload, it is desirable to complete four courses each semester.

International Business required courses

Courses studied on International Exchange. To be eligible to go on an international exchange you require a GPA of 5.0 or more in International Business major courses.

Each standard-size block represents a 15-point course.

1. MATH or MKTG 100 level

Select 15 points from MATH 101, MATH 102, MATH 199, MKTG 100. MATH 199 is a 30-point STAR course equivalent to (MATH 102 and MATH 103).

2. Selected 100 level languages

Select 30 points in a single subject from Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Russian or Spanish. The selected language or cultural courses must be approved by the International Business Director.

3. FINC or MKTG 100 level

Select 15 points from FINC 201, MKTG 201. Note that the Finance pathway students who do not go on exchange in semester 2 of year 2 must take FINC 201 in semester 2.

4. International Exchange

For the International Exchange pathway, 60 points at 100 and 200-levels is completed at a partner university. These points must include a course equivalent to MKTG 204. An alternative option is to complete MKTG 204 during summer school. MGMT 222 is waived for those following the International Exchange pathway.

5. FINC or MGMT or MKTG 300 level

Select 30 points from FINC 301, MGMT 324, MKTG 301, MKTG 314.
