Orientation - International Students - UC Business School - University of Canterbury

Orientation and Student Support for International students

At the start of each semester, the University runs Orientation events to help you find out more about the student services and support available to you on campus. If you need help or want to talk to someone about your studies talk to the staff in the School or contact a Student Support Advisor anytime.

International Students Welcome

UC offers a special welcome for new international students who arrive at the beginning of Semester One and Semester Two. At the International Welcome you will learn about UC services and where you can go for student support, plus find out more about Christchurch. Come along to meet our University staff and make new friends!

All international students enrolling for the first time in a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) must attend a compulsory International Welcome. The Semester One welcome is part of UC's International Arrival Week Programme. Find out more at http://www.canterbury.ac.nz/international/international-welcome/

Kia ora - Hello!

This pressing of noses is called a hongi.
It is a traditional Māori greeting and
serves a similar purpose to a handshake
in modern Western cultures.
