Alain d’Astous (PhD, University of Florida, 1985) is Professor of marketing and Director of the PhD program at HEC Montréal where he teaches principally courses in marketing research and consumer behavior. He is the author or co-author or more than 75 articles in refereed journals in marketing. He has published a book on marketing research (Chenelière Éducation, 2011, Award of excellence, Ministry of Education, Québec government for the 2nd edition), a book on consumer behavior (with P. Balloffet, N. Daghfous, C. Boulaire, 2010, Award of excellence, Ministry of Education, Québec government for the 1st edition), and a book on marketing (with J.-P. Sallenave, F. Marticotte, 2010). His main research interests are in the areas of consumer behavior, marketing communication (sponsorship, product placement, brand endorsement), and marketing of the arts.
