The Fifth Asia Pacific Interdisciplinary Research in Accounting (APIRA)
Conference is organized jointly by
University of Canterbury,
Auckland University of Technology,
University of Waikato, and
Victoria University of Wellington.
It will be hosted
in Auckland, New Zealand in 2007. This will be its 5th triennial conference,
after successful conferences in Sydney (1995), Osaka (1998),
Adelaide (2001), and Singapore (2004).
With a reputation for academic
rigor, and the participation of accountancy's foremost thinkers,
APIRA2007 promises to attract strong representation from accounting
researchers the world over. Some of the most prolific researchers
from the United Kingdom, Europe, North America, the Asia-Pacific
region, and many other countries are represented in APIRA's
International Editorial Committee. A strong interdisciplinary
program of research papers and forums addressing the relationships
between accounting, auditing and accountability and their
social, institutional, economic and political environments
will be included in the program.
So mark your diary, and plan to
be in Auckland, the City of Sails, from 8 to 10 July 2007,
for an exhilarating period of intensive discussions, debates,
and networking with leading and emerging scholars in our field.
Junior and recent faculty appointments and PhD students are invited to
apply to attend the
APIRA Emerging Scholars' Colloquium
on 6-7 July, immediately preceeding the main conference.
We look forward to your presence
at APIRA2007 in Auckland.
